Network Configuration Manager (NCM) Credentials

To automate network configuration backups, you have to provide SSH/Telnet or SNMP credentials. You can choose to use the credentials that are already added to your Site24x7 account or add new ones.

You can add new credentials in two ways:

  • While adding devices to NCM, click + next to Primary Credential or SNMP Credential.
  • Navigate to Network > NCM > NCM Credentials > Add Credential.

SSH/Telnet credentials

On the Network Credential screen that opens, perform the following steps:

  1. Credential Type: Toggle and choose either SSH for Secure Shell or Telnet based on which credential you're going to use.
  2. Display Name: Provide a name to identify the credentials. This name will be saved and used to associate and fetch network configuration data.
  3. Description: Provide a short description to define and differentiate between different credentials.
  4. User Name: Enter the SSH or Telnet username.
  5. Password: Enter the SSH or Telnet password.
  6. Port: Enter the number of the port on which the SSH or Telnet service is running.
  7. Timeout (in seconds): Specify the amount of time Site24x7 should wait for the SSH or Telnet response.
  8. Enter the details for Prompt, Login Prompt, Password Prompt, Enable Username, Enable Password, Enable Command, and Enable Prompt.
  9. Toggle Additional Parameters Required to Yes if additional parameters are required and enter them as well. Enter the Login Prefix Prompt, Login Prefix, Enable Username Prompt, and Enable Password Prompt for your respective credentials by referring to the screenshot below.
  10. Click Save Credential.
