Threshold Configuration for AWS Systems Manager

Configure thresholds for your AWS Systems Manager metrics so you can receive notifications when thresholds are breached. To learn more about how you can add users and customize alert settings, visit our user and alert management page.


Create a new threshold profile for AWS Systems Manager

  1. Log in to your Site24x7 account and navigate to Admin > Configuration Profiles > Threshold and Availability.
  2. Click Add Threshold Profile.
  3. Select AWS Systems Manager from the Monitor Type drop-down menu and provide an appropriate label in the Display Name field for identification purposes.
  4. Toggle the Notify as Trouble when a Monitored Resource is Down/Trouble/Critical option to Yes to receive an alert when the monitor status changes for an instance.
  5. Toggle the Notify as Trouble when the Ping Status of a Managed Instance's SSM Agent is Down option to Yes to receive an alert when the agent status of a managed instance goes down.
    Note: When an SSM agent's ping connection is lost, the managed instance is considered down.
  6. Supported performance counters are shown in the Threshold Configuration section. You can configure values, set up alert conditions, and determine alert strategies at the individual attribute level. By default, only two attributes are shown. You can select more by clicking Select Attributes. An alert will be triggered when a metric value violates the determined threshold.   7. Click Save.

Edit an existing threshold profile for AWS Systems Manager

  1. Navigate to Admin > Configuration Profiles > Threshold and Availability.
  2. Click the threshold profile that you want to edit.
  3. Edit the configured threshold values and click Save.

Permanently delete a threshold profile for AWS Systems Manager

  1. Navigate to Admin > Configuration Profiles > Threshold and Availability.
  2. Click the threshold profile that you want to delete.
  3. Click Delete.
